Cause The REST API Extension involved was created with a lower version of the Bontia product. There are java librarires (.jar files) which are not compatible with java 11 used with latest version of BCD.

Solution The Maven’s pom.xml file needs to be modified. The versions of the dependency and plugins listed below must be updated:

  • dependency groovy-all

  • plugin maven-compiler-plugin

  • plugin groovy-eclipse-compiler

  • plugin groovy-eclipse-batch

In order to find the versions to use, apply the procédure below:

  • Start the Studio

  • Create a new dummy REST API extension: the new pom.xml file created contains the versions to used

  • Update the pom.xml file of the REST API Extension which failed to be compiled.

Application pages and forms aren’t displaying special characters correctly in Windows

If there is a special character like in my page or form, the character does not appear properly after the page or form is deployed.

Cause When using Windows, the characters are encoded into Windows-1250, instead of UTF-8

Solution There are two possible solutions for this:

  • Use the HTML character code. For example, the one for is €

  • If you don’t need a special file encoding, when building the project using the builder, you can add a UTF-8 file encoding parameter, like so:

java -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -jar bonita-la-builder.jar build <path to the bonita project> -e production
